I was born and raised in the Puget Sound area. I knew when I was 16 years old that I wanted to be a dentist. I worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for sixteen years before graduating as a dentist from The University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 1996.
I was originally drawn to dentistry because I have a desire to help other people. I never dreamed it would be such an exciting and evolving career. Being a dental hygienist and now a dentist has offered me the rewards of creating lasting relationships with my patients as well as educating and helping them obtain healthy and beautiful smiles.
Dentistry has changed with the addition of technology and new materials that allow me to offer a higher quality of treatment to my patients. These new technological advances have made dentistry one of the most exciting careers today. I often spend time telling my younger patients how “fun” my job is and what I like about it, so that they might also consider dentistry as their career.
